I was born in Ankara, Turkey in 1978. In 1997, I completed my high school education in Istanbul, at Galatasaray High School (Turkish: Galatasaray Lisesi, French: Lycée de Galatasaray) which is the oldest Turkish high school in the world and the second-oldest Turkish educational institution after Istanbul University. From 1997 to 2001 I studied at Metallurgical Engineering Department, Chemistry and Metallurgy Faculty, Yildiz Technical University.
I did my military service in between December 2001-May 2002.Between June 2002 and June 2009 I worked as Sales Engineer and Overseas Sales Expert, respectively at Metamak and Umran Steel Pipe Inc. which are Turkey's two leading companies operating in the metallurgical industry. At Umran Steel Pipe Inc., I translated steel pipe tender documents from English to Turkish and while I was working there, I started to work on freelance translation projects.
In 2009, I decided to work as a freelance translator. Freelance translation projects that I finalized are, among others, press releases of automotive companies, technical translations, user guide translations, interview translations, web site translations, translations of advertising documents. My career goal is to become a particularly sought after freelance translator for English, French and Spanish to mother tongue (Turkish) translations.
