Mario, Professional translator Spanish

With English as main language and German as second language, I have been trained as a professional translator experienced in direct translation. In particular, instructed on the main types of specialized translation (scientific-technical, subtitling, marketing, legal, etc.), as well as in the localization and translation of web pages, always using different CAT tools such as SDL Trados Studio or Subtitle Workshop. During my university years I was very attracted to medical and literary translation. That is why I attended a specialized medical translation seminar and did my internship as a medical translator in collaboration with a hospital. In addition, I also based my dissertation on the analysis of translation strategies and cultural transfer of the Grimm Brothers' fairytales from German to Spanish. Currently, I have just returned to Spain to continue my education in a Master's degree after having lived for more than a year in Dortmund (Germany), where I could not only deeply improve my German skills, but also my Italian skills, since my flatmate was a native Italian teacher and he was teaching me his mother language all year long. Moreover I had the opportunity to obtain experience from two different translation companies: in the first one, we the translators had projects specialized in the textile field jointly translated by Trados, based mainly on the description of clothing and accessories for various brands. In the second one, I worked as post-editor of all kinds of articles for the Amazon website by using an online CAT tool (WordsOnline). Therefore, I am quite familiar with MT post-editing and translation in the field of e-commerce, marketing, IT and articles description.
