I am a British-born freelance legal translator working with French and Spanish into English (GB). I hold a DPSI Spanish - English Law from the Chartered Institute of Linguists (IoLET, London) and a member thereof (Membership No. 54593). I have translated about 1 million words under the scope of legal texts and documents. My main customer is the Canary Islands Government for whom I have translated court papers on a weekly basis since 2014.
Having lived in Spain for 9 years, during two of which I worked as a court interpreter for the Justice Department intervening in some 240 proceedings, I have acquired an excellent grasp of legal Spanish and Spain's legal system.
In this way, I can offer native-English renderings of legal texts whilst assuring the ideas and concepts of the source text are accurately transmitted.
Regarding French, I lived for almost three years in French-speaking West Africa and have experience working in an advisory capacity assisting with the translation of English texts into local languages for international organisations.
