My name is Belén López Guerra, I am 25 years old and I have a degree in translation and interpreting by the University Autónoma of Madrid.
I graduated in 2014, and I have not stopped working since then, always in different jobs related to languages, mainly as a translator. I am a native Spanish speaker and at university I chose English as my first language, French as the second language and also studied Italian at the language centre at university. At university I studied different subjects, such as specialised, literary, technique etc. translation; being a literary translation my final project.
When I was at university, during the last year, I worked as a translator for a tourist company at the same time I started an internship in an international trading company, where. My knowledge is quite wide in other fields, such us marketing, sports or cosmetics due to work or personal preferences.
I have been living in Surrey for two years, where I worked as a teacher as well as a freelance translator, so I can say my English is very accurate. Nowadays I am back in Spain working as a translator and translating all kind of texts. I have also finished a specialisation course in interpreting, which has helped me improving my interpreting skills as well as in my job as a translator since we have worked with all type of texts. In my last projects I have been working with the UoC, translating texts for Affinity; which was a mixture about animal knowledge as well as marketing. Last September I was working for the International Land Coalition during the World Land Forum. I would also like to mention my interpreting for an international film festival where I interpreted, both consecutive and simultaneous, some film directors such as Eugène Green, very different from what I had done before but very interesting and fun job; and interpreting for Senegalese women fighting against FGM. Last but not least, I would like to highlight the interpreting I carried out for DOCIP during the Indigenous Caucus, held in Geneva, in order to prepare the IGC38 that took place in the WIPO; and I have recently started to work with Slow Food.
As you can see, my experience is very wide and my qualification has given me what is needed to be a professional translator. If you think that my profile could suit to work with you, please do not hesitate to contact me. I would be very glad to be part of your team.
