I graduated from Thammasat University with a bachelor's degree in English and French. While studying at the university, I was awarded a one-year scholarship from the French government to be an exchange student at the Center for Applied Linguistics at Franche-Comte University in Besancon, France, where I earned a diploma in French Studies. Following my time in France, I went into the field of international banking at Krung Thai Bank Pcl in Chiang Mai, Thailand. At the age of 32, I decided to quit banking to continue my studies and attended the University of Auckland in New Zealand. While studying for my master's, I analyzed the process whereby a European-descended New Zealander had learned the endangered Maori language spoken by the country's indigenous people of the same name. I received my master's degree in 2004 in applied language studies and linguistics. I have been working as a contract lecturer in English at Maejo University in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and works for a range of translation companies and private clients at home and abroad. In addition to my Thai mother tongue, I speak English fluently and French at an advanced level.
