I am a full-time English to Korean translator who has solid experience in the translation industry and has lived in the US for about 5 years, acquiring useful translation skills. My specialized fields include marketing, advertising, consumer products, cosmetics/beauty, fashion/textile, tourism, food, and games. I also work in other fields such as education, household appliances, furniture, cooking and so on. I have a broad and rich understanding of customers’ needs in my specialized fields because I have always been a HEAVY consumer in these specific fields in the Korean market. In other words, I am knowledgeable of how to aim target audiences and how to use skillful marketing tactics in a given translation. For example, I love to buy and browse a vast variety of beauty and fashion items in the Korean market. One of my hobbies is to periodically read beauty and fashion magazines, brochures, catalogs, and press releases. Moreover, I personally enjoy exploring exotic places and taking a trip. I have experienced attractive hotels and guide tours over the past years, and it gave me good knowledge of the tourism market. I am fully aware that marketing translation is not solely about translating texts and words. Marketing translation needs to be done in the right tone and style with expert knowledge of the target market and target audiences.
